You can hardly recognize me, while the image taken with the C922 is focusing on my face, and while it makes me look a bit flushed, it is pretty good for a room with only the computer monitor to light up my face. Notice how grainy and noisy the image on the left is. Once again, the standard computer webcam is on the left, while the image from the C922 is on the right. The camera comes really onto its own when you turn the light off. You also have better light and colour, less noise, and a better smile. The image on the left is the normal webcam, while the one on the right is from the C922.Īs you can see straight away, there are more megapixels. The microphones though, are quite a bit soft, and could be louder. Particularly impressive is how it auto focuses and corrects itself in darkness. They are good, they come with hardware acceleration and features built in, and they can record 1080p video. Well known brand Logitech still sell quite a good number of webcams, and for good reason too. However, most webcams that come with computers are bad quality, and are designed to be just ‘good enough’. As we have moved from desktops to laptops, integrated webcams have pretty much given us all the uses we needed from them. Webcams are not quite the fad that they used to be.
